It's not that I don't appreciate all the benefits of the smartphone, I really do, but it feels weird to be so attached to a gadget. What about the good old days when we only had a landline to call our friends and family and only an agenda to keep track of our schedules? I'm sure we could survive without smartphones...

Interesting statistics, though it is scary how much we rely on technology.

Just imagine the life when there were no smartphones, washing machines, cars, Internet shopping, etc! Horror!

I am extremely addicted to my iPhone and to give it up for even a day would be one of the hardest things i ever did. its the last thing i use before bed and the fist think i grab after throwing my alarm clock across the room.

Interesting statistics, especially the popularity of Android phones I find it surprising how 70% of smartphone Moms are using Android. This just highlights the reliancy on technology these days!

Sure, the iphone is useful, but why such an obvious gendering? These statistics (if they are accurate at all) should apply to people of both genders, so I don't see why we need such ideas like the 'smartphone mom'.

I couldn't agree more. Technology has made us rely on our gadgets, some a little tad more than others. It makes me wonder what the next generation's addiction would be. At the moment, not only smartphones are getting too much attention when it comes to gadgets. iPads, netbooks, tablets, laptops and the like are being used in schools in replacement of books.

Great infographics! I think smartphones are starting to move from luxury to necessity. Emails, internet, organizers, are becoming more important to one's life, and smartphones can offer that.

You can expect it to keep going that way for the years to come.
